Paper Presented at European Symposium of Computer Aided Process Engineering (ESCAPE 34), 2024

The paper ‘Using CFD to calculate the heat transfer effectiveness of a particle curtain heat transfer device for an atmospheric pressure gas with high effectiveness and extremely low pressure drop.’ By Marko Trifunović, Mark Latham, Andrew Hoadley, David Frederick Fletcher, Caecilia Potter, was Presented at European Symposium of Computer Aided Process Engineering (ESCAPE), 2024.

Using a solid intermediate like a crossflow gas-particle system for heat recovery between gas streams offers a larger heat transfer area and significantly lower pressure drop than traditional heat exchangers. CFD is essential for predicting heat transfer and hydrodynamics, showing much lower pressure drops in these systems.
